With most of our movements restricted to home and work at the moment, what better time to get stuck into a good book!

Here are my recommendations of books I’ve enjoyed reading during iso v1.0 and v2.0.

Normal People by Sally Rooney

This book has been adapted as a television series, so for those that like to read then watch, this is a goodie! Based in Ireland, this story revolves around the complex friendship between Marianne, who is the intelligent loner, and Connell the handsome, popular guy. The story traces their on-again, off-again friendship from high school through to college, and how their relationship evolves through trauma and experience, only to keep bringing them back together.

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

Beautifully written and so descriptive that you can imagine yourself right there in coastal North Carolina! A really intriguing and unusual story about an orphaned girl who builds her life alone in the bush. There’s romance, mystery and lots of charm. Easy to read – hard to put down!

Becoming by Michelle Obama (autobiography)

Loved this too! A personal story of the former First Lady’s life – before, during and after Barrack. Some intriguing insights into American politics and family life in the White House.
